About Us

Brookhaven Treatment and Learning Center provides a safe home, therapy and education for boys who may need treatment and support outside of their own home. We are operated by the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont which recognizes the urgent need for such centers, and believes that the church's involvement in the Center can add an important dimension to the program. The Center has covenanted funds and other resources to support its basic purpose. In practice the region served by the Center is the state of Vermont, and most of its clients are supported by the state. However, there is no geographic restriction on its service area, nor any restriction on accepting privately supported clients.

The Center is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by the Diocese which is responsible for setting policy guidelines and standards for the school's operation and programs, and for insuring that appropriate, capable, professional leadership is provided, supported and evaluated. It is also the steward of the school's funds and property.

The Center works closely with the state agencies and Department of Education to ensure that its program adequately addresses appropriate academic needs.
